American people are powering the growth of Invenergy’s projects. And these projects are powering American businesses and communities.
As energy demand surges at an unprecedented rate, accelerating the delivery of cleaner, more reliable and affordable energy is critical to grow local economies, generate good-paying jobs, and power American energy independence. The need for an all-of-the-above approach to energy has never been clearer.
Clean energy creates new, reliable revenue streams for farmers and landowners and opens promising career paths and advancement opportunities for people across America. It reduces our reliance on foreign energy while improving the reliability of America’s energy grid.
As a privately held company, Invenergy has a 20+ year track record of responsibly developing, building, owning and operating wind, solar, and natural gas generation projects, transmission, and energy storage facilities. To date, we’ve developed more than 200 projects and 33 gigawatts of generating capacity.
In our People Powered series, hear stories from the people that make Invenergy’s energy projects possible. And see the impact this on their families and communities.
Clean energy spurs local economic growth
Clean energy projects not only bring affordable power to local homes and businesses, they help keep communities strong for generations. Land and lease payments to the farmers and landowners who host our wind and solar projects create a reliable revenue stream for families that, in turn, is invested right back into their local communities.
Invenergy invests hundreds of millions each year in the local communities where we work, live and operate through landowner payments, tax revenues, and project-generated wages and benefits. We also contribute millions more in cause-based investments to education, health and emergency medical services, first responders, and veterans and other causes that directly benefit the essential organizations and institutions that are vital to a community’s prosperity.

Clean energy creates local, good-paying jobs
The construction and operation of energy projects bring local, good-paying, reliable jobs to the communities where they’re built. In addition to the jobs created during construction, once operational, the projects create opportunities for full-time technicians to pursue family-sustaining careers close to home, or a chance to start a career somewhere new.
Invenergy’s projects create thousand of constructions jobs on average annually, and our projects employ more than 1,200 full-time operations and maintenance staff that keep our sites running safely and efficiently once they’re operational. Invenergy ensures that a majority of staff at Invenergy-owned-and-operated projects are from the surrounding local community, so that project communities are reaping direct economic benefits.
Invenergy is significantly investing in developing the energy workforce of the future. Our state-of-the-art training facility at our Center of Excellence in Bolingbrook, Illinois, will increase our total training capacity for new hires by 200% by the end of 2025, providing energy industry professionals – or people new to the field – a chance to join the energy workforce with a foundational focus on safety and efficiency.

Clean energy powers American energy independence and strengthens U.S. national security
As energy demand soars at an unprecedented rate, is a national security issue to keep the lights on and America’s economy growing without over-reliance on foreign adversaries.
Reclaiming American energy independence puts power back in the hands of American manufacturers, workers and communities.
In service of American energy dominance, Invenergy is onshoring the solar supply chain and creating thousands of manufacturing jobs. We’re also investing in the transmission lines essential to connect generation capacity and move large amounts of power long distances across regions from where it is produced to areas of high demand.
As the world grapples with global energy challenges, clean energy and more robust transmission infrastructure will strengthen the United States’ energy independence, national security and contribute to American prosperity.
